This larger painting

from Blue Rocks is nearly ready for prime time but I'll be doing a little more work on shadowed areas in front of the two wharfs.

Alan Cooper at the Broadway Cafe.

And that was not yesterday. This painting is still on my wall and available. Some folk may not even be aware that the well-known Atlantic Canadian musicians "Isaac & Blewett" once had a partner in the equally well-known poet, Alan Cooper

Impression of Jim Blewett

This painting is new and restores the triptych of "Isaac Blewett and Cooper"

Tim Isaac at the Broadway Cafe

The Westmorland County, New Brunswick cellist works his musical magic. This is not a new painting, but is still available.

A simple little decorative painting

at 16 by 20 inches. Shows three crew members from the Bluenose watching the conclusion of last year's International Dory Races in Lunenburg Harbour

Meanwhile Back In The Studio

Finished this on site painting from Mahone Bay. It did not quite make the deadlime for the auction.

Two intrepid sailors

Do their thing in the rigging 80 feet or so above the deck.

Back in her berth

The Bluenose is unavailable for two days while the crew swabs the decks.

The Day After The Festival

Work boats return to the waterfront: At The Adams & Knickle wharf : The Cachelot(1); the Tenacity (2) and Liberty1 (3). The Bluenose berth was empty (4) until she came in in the fog early this morning. The tent still stood until last evening and note the picnic benches in the foreground. The crowds of the previous day evaporated in inclement weather.

Three Video Clips

From "Les Girls" Concert at the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival. I have never made much use of the video function of my cheap ittle digital camera but this concert was so much fun I decided to share a bit of the ambience including a clip of these two impromptu step dancers, Anyone know how to rotate that third Quick time sequence? Haven't the time for a trial and error solution.

With the festival over for the year

Ruth and I retire to the only uncrowded bar in town. This place is a bit out of the way and has no beer on tap. Nevertheless it has one of the best views of the Front Harbour to be had. From this vantage point we watch the Harbour Festival tents and bleachers being disassembled and Ruth takes this snapshot of the Cachalot, a local scallop dragger, returning to her berth.

The Stepdancer

This gentleman was accompanied at the concert by the blonde woman seen in the last clip. He started an impromptu dance at the foot of the bandstand and was joined by her.

Other lookers-on

Ruth Brown enjoys the sunny afternoon

while listening to two hours of music at the bandstand.

All of "Les Girls"

The rest of "Les Girls"

Two of "Les Girls"

A new Acadian group from Prince Edward Island making a very good start at Lunenburg. Individually, excellent although they need a bit of practise working as backup musicians for one another.

Sunday: Final Day of Folk Music Festival

"Constitution" a free act at the bandstand. A group from the north west coast of the United States.
